Claiming a heritage so old, it's origins are at best educated guesswork, the modern pagan bears little resemblance to their steriotypical counterparts. The pagans of today are now computerized, orginized, and protected by law. A far cry from the time it was a 'Me against the world' situation that might often invole questions of life and death. This suggests that the originals had a very difficult lifestyle to deal with. Modern "Inheritors" of this mantle claim outrages that happened to the originals as if THEY were the ones tortured, burned, murdered, etc. Granted, it is an atrosicty that should never have happened-but I see no modern pagans with evidence of burning and torture upon their bodies. Any mental torments are due to their own imaginations and 'adopted' theology/lifestyle, and the world's reactions to it. I could point out that Christians in the time of Rome and the victims of the Holacost suffered the same way, but according to a few 'educated pagans' I know, those things never happened.

Familiar in hand (or is that sphere?), the wizard also occupies a spot in mystery and legend. Ancient beings who had traveled to the ends of the earth in their quests for knowlege and power. They have been rumored to do things no one has yet to duplicate with sorcery's little sister (science). Some live on even today as the stuff of legends (Merlin) while others were forgotten as easily as their claims were proven to be false.

They say that beauty is only skin deep. But what, praytell, lurks near the bone? The stripper has been included here as a perfect symbol of the moral state of our world. There is always someone ready to drop hard earned dollars on the table for a few moments of visual fantasy. She (or sometimes he) haunts our dreams and wedges herself into our every thought and desire. The spirit of the stripper has survived since Babylon. And since her 'artform' is protected (and sometimes encouraged) here-does that give us another clue to the identity of the 'Babylon' that shall fall in the comming End Times?

More infamous than her daughters Lilith, Delila, Jezabel, and Salome-The Whore of Babylon stands out in our future's like a neon sign. Her look is devine, her words are seductive, but death and damnation await in those arms. There are many who say America IS the modern Babylon, and watching the news or reading the daily papers gives that argument full steam. Mankind has re-erected the Tower of Babel, is she herself far behind? (where is Babel, you ask? You use the Internet-don't you?)
